I finally got the pictures edited of our photo shoot of our home at Christmas. I hope you enjoy them!
My tree topper…I am in love with her. Todd bought her for me when we were first married. I fell in love with her because she has brown hair and the most delicate dress and wings. The star is a new addition this year. I needed a star above the manger and it fit the bill. It’s actually a tree topper, turned upside down with ribbon threaded through the base. It’s unique because it’s made of a special oyster shell. I love it and it came from Wal-Mart. On top of my bookcase sits the angel that is heralding Christ’s birth. She was given to me by my Aunt after my mother passed away. She was made by a friend of my grandmother and it was so special to her. Beside it sits joy, given to us by friends and a very special vase of flowers.
Our Christmas tree. I love the glow it gives. It makes me feel so warm and cozy. I think it’s most beautiful on Christmas eve. Not because of all of the presents underneath it. It just feels like home and home is where my heart is.
This nativity is so simple and very old. It belonged to my husband’s grandmother and it sits in our foyer on top of her sewing machine.
Our stockings. The Bethlehem village with the star above. This was a gift from my parents. I love it because they have one just like it. The stockings are so adorable and I love watching our kids tear into them on Christmas morning, even though I know they’ve already raided them during the wee morning while I was asleep!
These are the balls that have survived over the past 23 years of marriage. Funny, there are exactly five. One for each of us as one of my girls announced as I filled the jar with them. I wasn’t sure what to do with them and then I ran across this vase. I really like how they turned out. It might be one of my favorite things this year.
Our sweet little pets. You would not believe how long it took to get the picture of Rusty sleeping on his Christmas present, which he adores by the way. Emily actually snapped the shot on her iPod after an hour of my trying to get it with my camera. He finally fell asleep waiting for Santa! Twilight was so helpful or just a curious kitty as I was making a new garland for the kitchen. And then there’s Tuxedo, it was all we could do to keep him from sampling all the Christmas goodies we were making for lunch!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
