With everything going on today I felt like making something a little inspirational to remind us that God’s got our backs. I woke up today with an insane migraine partly because of all the stress from the Coronavirus, partly due to the stress my husband and kids are feeling and lastly because on top of all of this our water heater went out.
After my headache subsided a little I remembered, that we are still healthy. Yes, this is a very serious time in our history, but God is here. You can see him all around. I see him as our local restaurants serve free meals to the children that are out of school and to the elderly. I see him in companies and individuals that have stepped up to make masks and respirators. I see Him in people purchasing things for the shut-ins. Mr. Rogers said to look to the helpers and I needed this quote today.
You see, I love children’s ministry and today I have been missing our kiddos from church terribly. I took a little break after all the busyness of Christmas and just started back teaching when all of this hit. Today I received the news that we have postponed our huge community outreach, our Easter Eggstravaganza. We are waiting to see if at least we might do it for the kids at our church, but it looks like we won’t be able to. It hit me really hard today.
On top of that, two of my kids were for grocery stores (same chain, different locations), my other daughter works for a sporting goods store and my husband works for the hospital and it’s been really rough on them. Half of the public is patient and nice. But the other half is awful. My kids come home telling me they were cussed out and their safety precautions are getting more and more strict by the day. It’s scary and this mom’s heart is just breaking because they are all on the front lines.
So today, I just needed to remember that God is in control and this too shall pass. I need to remember not to embrace fear. I need to remember to make our home a place of refuge and rest for my husband and kids so they can escape their day of dealing with the public.
That’s why I made this simple wall quote. So we can all remember that no matter what is swirling around us, He is in charge and that we can rest in Him. Feel free to download this and print out. I even have it on a t-shirt! It is 8 1/2″ x 11″.

We’re all in this together! God’s Got This!
