Martha Stewart Planners for Your Calendar!

I found a really neat way to add some organizational planners and tips from Martha Stewart‘s website to My Yahoo Calendar.  You can also get them for your Google, Outlook or iCal calendars.  You can choose from:  Thanksgiving, Christmas, Gardening, Homekeeping, Organizing and Pets.

Ok, so I am a fan of Martha Stewart, I’ll admit it and I have no problem with it.  I love the ideas that she and her team comes up with.  I like the idea of making our lives pretty in the midst of our daily chaos.  As part of my trying to better organize myself, I started using a yahoo calendar on my My Yahoo page.  I don’t use it for my daily items to keep up with, those go on my desk calendar and my personal planner.  But I am using it for reminders that I don’t want to forget and for neat things I find on the internet.  Here’s how it looks:

This is how my calendar looks with the tips.

To get this really neat “Good Thing” to quote Martha, go to http://www.marthastewart.com/calendar and check the ones you want to receive and then click subscribe.  It’s that easy!  Then it will sync with your calendar and you’ll receive  to-do’s or tips.  It’s really neat and not bombarding like a lot of places send out.

It’s helped me already to get a little more organized.  I have been reminded about getting my seeds started indoors and that I need to clean out my closet and other neat tips.  What’s really neat is that when you go into your calendar, each tip is a link to her website with more detailed information to help you get started.  Do I do each tip that comes to my calendar?  Of course not or I just might not do it that day.  But it does give me something to think about and plan for as I look across my month or week.  Try it out!

  1. What a neat idea! I’m going to check it out to see if it’ll work with my google calendar. I’m glad to have found you through the Hip HS Hop. I love meeting Moms of older kids who are homeschooling. It inspires me to continue. This is our first year (preschool). Good luck with the new book!

    • Thanks so much! I hope it works on your calendar too. Today is my first time at the HHH and it’s been fun! I miss my kids being preschool age, it was such a sweet time. Good luck with homeschooling, it’s a real blessing to watch your kids grow up at home.

  2. Hi there! I realize this is somewhat off-topic however I needed to ask. Does operating a well-established blog like yours take a massive amount work? I am brand new to writing a blog but I do write in my journal everyday. I’d like to start a blog so I can share my personal experience and thoughts online. Please let me know if you have any kind of recommendations or tips for brand new aspiring blog owners. Appreciate it!

    • Thank you for the compliments! It does take some time to get it going and I spend at least one hour a day, sometimes lots more on it. But it’s been worth it for me. I love WordPress and it’s easy to use. Mine is linked to Twitter, Facebook, etc. so all my posts go there immediately. If you want large numbers of readers, you do have to work on getting your posts out there and it does take some time to build readership. But otherwise, just be yourself and go for it and you’ll do great!
