Jeremiah 33:6-9 (The Message) 6-9″ But now take another look. I’m going to give this city a thorough renovation, working a true healing inside and out. I’m going to show them life whole, life brimming with blessings. I’ll restore everything that was lost to Judah and Jerusalem. I’ll build everything back as good as new. I’ll scrub them clean from the dirt they’ve done against me. I’ll forgive everything they’ve done wrong, forgive all their rebellions. And Jerusalem will be a center of joy and praise and glory for all the countries on earth. They’ll get reports on all the good I’m doing for her. They’ll be in awe of the blessings I am pouring on her.
Is today your first day back to school? Do you ever feel like your homeschool is tired or worn out? Do you feel tired and worn out? Have your circumstances changed? These things can be hard to deal with. When you look back over your past school year, sometimes we look back with regret. You know, the “should of, could of, would of’s, and all of the what if’s.” We tend to beat ourselves up pretty bad about it. Sometimes, we really did mess things up a bit or a lot. Sometimes it’s just a case of mommy/daddy guilt. Either way, it’s Satan just trying to get under our skin.
During a Bible reading moment today, our first day of school, we read Jeremiah 33:6-9. We began brand new journals today and this was the reading assignment. It spoke volumes to me as I read it to myself. How poignant that this would be the very thing I needed, as I too have been beating myself up about our school this summer. But, we had a lot of crazy circumstances happen to us this past year and summer that were out of our control that we’ve had to deal with, that more than likely made it even worse than normal mommy guilt. So, over the past few weeks, I’ve been telling myself, “everything is new this year, each day is a new day.”
And right here in print before my eyes, was God telling me the same thing! I first read it in my King James version, then I decided to read it from my Message version. It was amazing! If you are struggling or just beginning a new school year, take a moment and read this scripture and let it speak to you. It may just change your school year!
