It’s Christmas decorating time! I must say that this year, we can’t really purchase a lot of new decorations, but I really want to make the house look really pretty. So, I’m going to do it cottage style for anything new that I want to do and hopefully that will keep the budget down.
What does it mean to decorate “Cottage Style”? That means that I’ll repurpose what I already have and use as much natural decorating as possible. After some Better Homes and Gardens inspiration and a blessing of branches that fell off a truck and into my driveway, I’m ready to begin.
Here are the before pictures. Not much to see here, boring and as you can tell, I still have a lot of work to do on the new flower bed and walkway. But, that’s ok. I’ll be working on it all winter and next spring. Now, on to the before pics!
What till you see what I’m going to do with this planter. It’s actually from my Granddaddy’s barn. It used to hold medicine for the cows.
This is the after from today. I found these amazing branches in my driveway. They had fallen off a truck that was carrying them away. Lucky me! I deconstructed them and made a garden out them. The red berries are twigs from my holly bushes. I’m not finished by long shot, but it’s a start!
