Please pardon the interruption to my normal blogging for this political rant .
I’ve tried really hard not to say anything but if I don’t vent, I might explode. So please forgive me in advance.
Tomorrow is Election Day and it’s probably the single most important election of those living in the U.S. right now. From the very young to the very old, this election is going to determine our future like no other election. Our very direction as a country will be shaped by tomorrow and every single vote that is cast. I will be making a decision that I have to answer to God for. Maybe you think He doesn’t care about our puny elections in the grand scheme of things, but you would be very wrong.
Tomorrow we elect for a change, a continuing change towards socialism and further callousness towards people or hopefully a way back towards a gentler time. I’m not saying that one man is more perfect than the other; they both have made and will make mistakes, but what do you want this country to look like after we are gone? What do you want your children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren to have as a country?
As a Christian, I know what we are headed for as we come closer to the end times, but I certainly don’t mean to roll over and let it happen. I have tried to give the current President the benefit of the doubt over and over again. But he continually lies, to everyone. He continually covers up everything and tries to sweep it under the rug. I am not a conspiracy theorist. I like to believe that everyone has our best interests at heart.
But after Ben Ghazi and everything that has come to light since that terrible attack, I have come to believe the current President needs to be removed. I’ve never been a fan of his. Honestly, I’d never even heard of him until he was the nominee in ‘08. I, we, knew nothing about him and we still no nothing about him. Or do we? I’ve never understood the pedestal that he was placed on. I don’t believe anyone deserves a pedestal. I never understood why people seemed to worship at his feet. The only one who deserves that is God himself. I don’t understand why the citizens of the U.S. aren’t screaming at the top of their lungs about the attack.
That sickens me. That we have lost brave souls from our country in an attack (an act of war no less) and we have done nothing. The media barely mentions it. Facebook has gone silent. Why is there no weeping for these people? Why are we not knocking down the walls of the White House demanding answers? I’m not asking for riots in the streets because that would be horribly wrong. I’m asking why we as citizens aren’t writing, calling, protesting, hounding the media, etc. about the truth, whatever it is.
Have we grown that calloused? Is life that expendable? I’m not sure what any other president would have done. I just know that I am not willing to put a crown on the current one’s head. I don’t understand those that already have. I pray that tomorrow’s election will bring peace to a country that is terribly divided. I pray that we get those answers that we need and the truth will come out. I pray that our country will turn back to God to worship instead of a man. Maybe that’s why people were so eager to put that crown on the current President’s head. They are looking earnestly for something missing in their lives. The one true God they should be worshipping.
