Girlfriends Guide 2

Because Homeschooling Is A Lifestyle

Going to the Conference!

May 21, 2008

I will be going to the NCHE (North Carolina Home Educators) Conference. So, I’m not sure how much posting I will be doing over the weekend. But, I will be doing one of my favorite hobbies…..Shopping! I love shopping, doesn’t matter what, just love it! I’ve been pouring over what I will need to buy, so I can work over the summer planning for next school year. It’s one of my favorite things. We’ll also be going to workshops and listening to some great speakers.

What’s so funny about going to the conference is that I usually plan out what speakers I’m going to and when I’ll shop. When I’ll break for lunch and supper, etc. You get the idea! But, every year, God changes my plans. There will sometimes be a theme that will develop over the weekend as to who I need to go hear. Sometimes, there is no apparent theme.

This year, our oldest daughter is going with us. I’m so excited! She’s even got some friends that are going. There are lots of topics for teens to go to. So, this year, I’m just leaving it wide open. I’m going to plan around her, and just see what God has in plan for me this year at the conference. Who knows what’s waiting for me? I love surprises!
