Needing some inspiration or encouragement to wear a pair of white jeans? Why is it so scary to wear white jeans? This outfit had me wearing my first pair of white jeans in decades! I have to admit I bought the jeans about a year ago and for some reason tucked them away in my pants drawer and forgot all about them. Then I bought this cute Rachel Zoe floral peasant top and it hung in my closet for a couple of months. Do you do that? Buy things and then kinda chicken out of wearing it or don’t wear it because you don’t know how to style it or you think it won’t look on you?
That’s what happened here until I rediscovered my white jeans in my drawer, then a lightbulb went off! Wear the jeans! I mean I got them for only $5 at Marshall’s and they’re designer, Buffalo by David Bitton, so they shouldn’t be hiding in my drawer. But they’re white? White is kinda scary, right? I don’t think so. Fabrics today are so washable and you should wear what you like. Isn’t that worth the risk of wearing white pants? I think so and I’m so glad that I did.
This turned out the be such a cute outfit. I wasn’t sure if I could pull off this particular shade of green because it’s not your typical green but I got lots of compliments on it. I was going on that old school of thought that you should only wear colors that match your season (cool/warm). That was so long ago and I’m not sure why it still pops up in my head. Again, what is with the hangups? But one of my daughters assured me that I could wear that color and she was right! I really liked this shade of green and plan on finding a few more things this color. So don’t be afraid to try new colors!
Back to the outfit! This outfit is so cute just with the top and white denim pants, but putting the denim jacket with it just finished it. Our spring weather here in NC swings during the day from chilly to tropical and you never know what you’re going to get so having a jacket is a must. Denim jackets just make everything look better. This is my first denim jacket in decades. I actually found it at Marshall’s for $20 and it’s a Levi’s Signature Distressed jacket! I’m in love and I want to wear it everywhere!
I also paired this outfit with my espadrilles, hoop earrings. I wish I had taken a picture of my makeup that day because it actually looked pretty good. The green top has a yellow undertone with blue and almost light purple flowers so I had fun with my makeup. I pulled out my Revolution Color Book Palette CB03 and found a pretty yellow for my lids and used a brown in the crease and found a pretty green to sweep under my eyes. I used a bronzer on my cheeks and nude lipstick.
After wearing this outfit, I plan on wearing this again. I also think I’ll be wearing those white jeans more. Don’t be afraid to rock the white jeans! Be daring! They go with just about everything. I got this whole outfit at Marshall’s for under $50. How great is that? If you’d like to get the same outfit or a similar one, check your locals Marshall’s or just shop below.
