For the past couple of years, I’ve been seeing blog postings and websites about Home Management Notebooks. I did the research and I think it’s a great idea. I just can’t seem to get mine together. I’ve started and stopped working on it a dozen times. But, I’m gonna do it. It’s such a great idea and the idea is nothing new. I read a book from the 1800’s that talked about how each wife should have one. Just wish I could remember the name of the book! I wonder why all of a sudden this idea has become popular again? I didn’t know anyone that had one when I was growing up. My grandmother, great-grandmother, nor my mother had one. So, why now? Why do we feel the need to have one? Questions, questions? Life in the 1800’s was no piece of cake, they were immensely busy with daily chores they had to get done. Children were expected to be able to run the house when the adults were not home. I’d say even with all the modern conveniences we have, we’re just as busy. Maybe that’s the reason. Maybe it’s the resurgence of parents trying to take back control of the home and families. Whatever the reason I’m going to try to make one and teach my kids and husband how to do it. Wish me luck!
