Today I had to finish planting in our new whiskey barrels. It was freezing cold, although you’d never know it by how my son is dressed!
We were trying to beat the rain, so we were hurrying like crazy. This whiskey barrel was so big it took two of those bags of potting soil and 3/4 of a very large bag of garden soil.
Today we planted a few more lettuce plants in the new barrel. Then we interspersed carrot and spinach seeds in all 3 of the barrels. It should be really pretty when everything is growing.
If you don’t have room to grow much, don’t want a large garden, or just impatient like me, try container gardening. It’s great! No weeds, easy maintenance and very kid friendly. It also looks really pretty when you mix up what you’re planting. Like veggies and flowers in the same container.
I just love this picture in black and white! See the old wagon? It belonged to my husband’s grandmother!
We barely got finished in time before it started raining. It rained non-stop from the time we finished. Thank you God for holding it off until we were finished.
