Time to jump back into the swing of things! After two weeks off of school, one for the East Coast National Basketball Tournament where our Varsity girls took 2nd place in their division and our Varsity Boys took 1st place in theirs, (Go Stallions!) and one for actual Spring Break, it’s time to get back to work.
We’ve been doing a block schedule this year and it seems to be working great. If you have an insane schedule, I highly recommend it. This week we begin shifting from the first half of our block into the second half. That means some classes are coming to an end and some new ones are being added. We are overlapping some of our subjects, which means for a few weeks we’ll be more like a traditional schedule than block, but that’s ok.
We’re adding for my junior: Italian. Yes, Italian and not Spanish! Almost ready for chemistry (finishing up Biology) and English/language arts.
For the other two kids, that means a different science and English/language arts and a few other subjects. Some of their subjects I decided to continue all year and not do them as a block, for example, their math.
And since winter decided to return to NC, I hope to be getting all of our grades entered into the computer this week. It’s been so busy this year, I haven’t had a chance. I might even look into other programs besides Homeschool Tracker, which I’ve been very devoted to over the years. Just looking to simplify! But I do love that program, so we’ll see!
