Today the kids and I went for something new and different for lunch. This was super quick and easy and it’s a nice switch for a regular burger. This is my first time making this and I really didn’t measure this time. I’ll pay better attention next time! You don’t want to overpower the turkey, but you want to give it flavor, so feel free to adjust to your liking. That’s the fun of cooking; play with your food!

Turkey Burgers
Ingredients
- 1 pound of ground turkey
- salt
- pepper
- onion powder
- chili powder
- nutmeg
- cinnamon
- provolone or pepper jack cheese
- buns
- 1 tablespoon of oil
Instructions
-
Mix ground turkey with approximately 1/2 tsp each of salt, pepper, onion powder. Then add a dash each of cinnamon and chili powder and just a tiny pinch of nutmeg. Sounds weird, I know, but it was really good! Mix thoroughly, but don't overwork it. Add about 1 tablespoon of oil to a skillet and heat to medium-high. Make burgers and add to skillet. Do not disturb patties until they are ready to flip. You can tell because they release from the pan easily, any sooner and you'll ruin the burger. Flip and cook till juices run clear. Top with cheese while finishing cooking and remove to bun when cheese is melted. Top with your favorite toppings.

Recipe Notes
Tip: These would be great brushed with barbeque sauce!
