I am currently in LOVE with this new fitness planner I found at Marshall’s. It’s by Eccollo Ltd. and was only $5.99! Can’t beat that! The theme for this year for me is “Healthy Inside and Out”. I’ve spent the last two years having two surgeries myself (hysterectomy and double knee arthroscopy) and taking care of two girls who had three surgeries between them and my husband having three surgeries by himself for cancer. It’s been busy! But God is awesome and everyone is doing great! Thankfully my son has been super healthy.

It’s time to focus on me a little bit and this planner is going to be a big help. I love planners and this one is great! It’s great because it’s really simple and it leaves me with plenty of room to write whatever I want. You can track water, goals, what you ate, what exercises you did; you get the picture. I also love that it has a place for gratitude which is something that I’m working on daily and if anything motivated you today. There’s also a place for the good and bad of what you ate, not just what you ate, but what was good and what was bad about it. That’s a little different way of thinking about what you ate and I also love the emotional check-ins. What was good and bad about today and what did you do well today? It really makes me stop and think, did I do anything well today?
The nice thing is that it gives you plenty of room to write each day. I’ve been using that page to keep track of what happens at my physical therapy sessions. As soon as PT is over and I’m home, I write down what exercises we did, reps and any directions I might want to remember. I also write down any tips or bits of information that I might need to remember. I also put down how I felt once PT was done and questions for next time. You could use it to record workouts, plan your workouts, your meals, etc. or use it as a journal or diary about each day.
This journal is another tool to keep me motivated. I know that for me, there are a lot of mental stumbling blocks that get in the way of getting into shape and writing them down when I feel them or when they happen can help to overcome them. Try a fitness journal and let me know how you’re using it, and how it’s helping you. Here’s to getting “Healthy Inside and Out!”
